Sanjiang Lotus Ferry Terminal

Zhoushan, China
Status: Detail Design

The Sanjiang Lotus Ferry Terminal is inspired by the lightness and purity of the Lotus Flower, which delights the hearts of people around the world.  For the people of Zhoushan the Lotus Flower has a deeper meaning.  Putuo Shan is famous across China as a place of pilgrimage, attracting both Buddhists and those interested in Buddhist philosophy.  Buddha is often depicted standing or seated on a Lotus Flower representing purity of thought.

This Ocean Gateway site will be regenerated with a new 11,000sqm passenger hall, offering the people of Zhoushan and visiting tourists a new travel experience.  The new Lotus Hall will welcome an estimated 2.5 million passengers passing through yearly.

GFA : 11,000 sqm
