Zhoushan Night Pearls
Zhoushan, China
Status: Master Plan
John Curran Architects designed the first generation of Yepaidang seafood restaurants back in 2012, with the simple purpose of providing a good livelihood for the local people, raising their quality of life.
The Zhoushan Putuo government invited John Curran Architects back to design the ‘Night Pearls on the Sea’ - the next generation of restaurants set out as an ocean arcade, connecting with a new ferryboat terminal, along the south coast of Zhoushan.
The Zhoushan Putuo Government want to build on the success of its predecessor. The next generation will offer visitors not just a great seafood experience, but also a cultural experience of Zhoushan, embracing arts & crafts, model boat making, painting, stone sculpture and yellow wine making.
